According to the US Department of Energy's Energy Information Administration, solar and wind power combined met nearly 9% of the country's energy demands in 2018. Solar electricity generation grew 25% from the previous year, with more than 12 states more than doubling their solar output, and three states increasing their solar energy consumption by 250% or more.
